And in Kenai, king salmon fishing could mean a world record! Kenai river holds around 2 dozen IFGA world records. If fact, as we talk about King Salmon here, Kenai holds that record too, 97,25 pounds! As a matter of fact, 9 out of the top ten king salmon trophies were taken in Kenai River.

An ”average” King Salmon, or Chinook , can be about 16 to 20 lbs. But it’s not impossible that you will get your hands of a 55lb king.
